ORANGE COUNTY IMC BREAKFAST MEETING - March 13, 2008

Pain Killer Marketing for Consultants:
How to Turn Customer Pain into Your Marketing Gain

With Chris Stiehl & Henry DeVries, Authors of the Book "Pain Killer Marketing"

Customers are more motivated to avoid pain than to seek pleasure, according to psychologists and sociologists. And we can use this insight with our customers to build our consulting practices.

Don't miss our IMC Orange County Breakfast on March 13, when Chris Stiehl and Henry DeVries, authors of the soon-to-be-released book "Pain Killer Marketing, How to Turn Customer Pain into Marketing Gain," will teach us proven methods to discover the pain of customers and then "kill the pain" in our sales our and marketing messages.

One of the tricks is to affordably find the pain of customers, according to Chris and Henry. While many market research firms advocate costly focus group interviews to uncover customer pains, presenters Chris and Henry will show how one-on-one interviews can do a better job at a fraction of the cost. They will present techniques whereby independent consultants can obtain $50,000 worth of marketing research for an investment of only 20 to 30 hours of their time, and then use this research to sell their consulting services.

The presenters, both marketing professionals, consultants and instructors at the University of California San Diego, build their case on academic research dating back to the early 1990s plus extensive field testing over the last 15 years with a variety of clients, including consultants. They will share a number of ways to decrease marketing waste, increase promotional productivity, and increase the sales closing rate of consultants.

Don't miss this unique presentation on March 13 from America's leaders in Painkiller Marketing. This will not only be a great learning experience, but also an opportunity for you to network with consultants and other self-employed professionals in the Greater Orange County area.
