ORANGE COUNTY IMC BREAKFAST MEETING - November 3, 2005

Identifying and Overcoming Your Roadblocks to Consulting Success

With Tom Northup, Principal of Leadership Management Group

One of the best kept secrets of our consulting profession is that we don’t do the things we advise our clients to do. The examples are many – e.g. a website that’s incomplete; not making sales calls; lack of participation in professional groups; lack of regular networking; and unwillingness to get professional guidance when we need help with our business. There are invisible, unspoken components as well: the beliefs we hold dear, perceived personal limitations, life and business experiences. These can shape our results even more than the specific business practices that are not being implemented.

On Thursday, November 3, Tom Northup, President of Leadership Management Group, will be leading us in a process to discuss and confront our challenges. We will break into small groups of six to eight consultants, each with a facilitator. At the conclusion of the meeting, each group will have the opportunity to share their insights and solutions. If two heads are better than one, the heads of many consultants can be even better!

This is a participatory, not a passive listen & learn event. Please come prepared to share as well as gain new ideas. All of us have identified specific challenges, and many of use have overcome them. Let's share what has worked for us and what has not!

You will deepen the relationships you have with the other consultants present whether you are new to consulting or are an old pro. So join us on November 3, as we put our heads together and share
